There is no doubt that technical progress plays an important role in modern life. Many people think that it has a detrimental impact in nature, whereas others disagree with this point of view.
In my opinion, advances in technology are not harmful to the environment. Firstly, scientists have discovered a safe way to produce artificial fur with the help of manufacturing. Hence, it gives an opportunity to save animals, especially endangered species. Secondly, nowadays people are giving preference to environmentally-friendly materials because they are non-toxic and can be recycled. Finally, alternative sources of energy, such as solar batteries, are more eco-friendly than traditional ones. For example, they help to reduce emissions of harmful gases.
However, there are those who think that technical progress does more harm than good. According to their opinion, nuclear power stations emit radioactive substances. Therefore, they cause water, soil and air pollution. Additionally, forests are cut out annually for the needs of technical development.
Despite this, I cannot agree with these statements. Today using nuclear energy has become safer due to special protecting scientific methods. What is more, there are new breakthrough technologies for forest monitoring to prevent deforestation.
In conclusion, even though there are different points of view on this problem, I am inclined to believe that technical advances have a beneficial effect on the nature.
