History is a compulsory subject at every school. It is widely believed that the study about the past is the most important part of the educational process. However, there are people who disagree with this point of view.
I personally am convinced that lessons of history have a priority over other subjects. Firstly, every pupil should know about the deeds of their ancestors as it makes them appreciate their past and be proud of their country. Furthermore, history tends to repeat itself, so if students learn about the mistakes, which were made by the previous generations, they can figure out how to prevent them in the future.
Conversely, there are people who hold a different opinion. They state that lessons of history are not that important as they do not provide students with practical skills, like lessons of maths and biology do.
I cannot agree with this point of view. When the teacher tells the students about the past, it broadens their minds and makes them more educated and profound people, what definitely is important.
In conclusion I would like to say that all the mentined above makes me even more convinced that history is the main subject in any school program.
