For the great majority of people reading a book is the best way to fully understand the plot, the characters and the main idea of the given story. However, others claim that a film version of the book has more advantages and gives more satisfaction.
From my point of view, the written version has a clear superiority. Firstly, the author that has written a book puts exactly there the main idea and only the book can entirely show the story, while a film is just a director’s vision of the plot. Secondly, the book has more important details that help you to understand the character and the motivation of his actions better. Finally, while reading a book you can make notes to, for example, remember some inspirational quotes.
Nevertheless, people argue that watching a film version of the book is not that bad as it is often claimed. Firstly, a movie can be more thrilling and give you more emotions, for example, make you cry. Eventually, nowadays a great majority of films are in free access, so you don’t have to pay.
Personally, I think these concerns are groundless. The book can be so breathtaking that you will read it in one day. Moreover, reading improves your creativity and imagination. Finally, a lot of books you can also read online just for free.
In conclusion, I am sure that reading is a better choice not just for a deeper understanding of the story, but for your self-development. Watching a film is only an entertainment.
